What is a Notary Public and why do you need one?

As a Notary Public, Simon is a specialised lawyer appointed by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury, to verify facts, witness deeds, including Powers of Attorney and authenticate documents for use in legal jurisdictions outside of England and Wales.

As a Notary Public, Simon must ensure that the person entering into the transaction has the capacity, will and understanding to do so. It is also necessary for Simon to assess the authenticity of the document they are being asked to verify.

Where is the Practice based?

Simon practises in Wareham and Swanage in Dorset, sometimes referred to as the Isle of Purbeck. Simon also has clients in Weymouth and Dorchester the county town of Dorset. This therefore covers the BH19, BH20, DT1, DT2, DT3, DT4, DT11 areas, all within Dorset. Simon can travel to you, but a nominal travel charge will apply.
